Liverpool's Star Extends Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the team in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the outburst were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
