The network's Leading Fresh Series of 2025 Earns a Major Renewal for an Additional Two Seasons.
Last October, the late-night programming block saw the return of its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. Yet, not long after, the channel unveiled a fresh animated series with a strikingly different vibe. Haha, You Clowns was heartwarming and calm, evoking a animated take of a contemplative talk show. A Major Commitment
On December 18th, Adult Swim revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been renewed for two more seasons. This provides showrunner Joe Cappa a massive runway to develop the story of the Campbell family. The show focuses on three well-mannered teenage brothers whose central trait is their strong bond for their widowed father, with Cappa portraying for all four main characters.
"My deepest thanks go to the viewers of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and helped it grow," said Cappa. "I’m incredibly thrilled that I get to spend more time in the Campbell household for seasons to come."
Executive Acclaim
The official statement also included praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who called the series as "radically heartfelt and strangely uncanny." He thanked the fans who found the show and championed its peculiarly charming appeal.
"All of you got behind this new show, championed for it on social media, and expanded its audience week over week so we could approve not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. "In the words: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"
A Different Kind of Comedy
When it first aired, Haha, You Clowns was praised as "a gentle counterpart" to other adult animated fare. Viewers found something unexpectedly cozy about watching this endearing family navigate their simple existence.
Previously, creator Joe Cappa expressed his goal to help comedy break out of its long-running sarcastic tone. He traced this trend to the rise of certain blockbuster franchises.
“It feels like there's a default mode of irony that we can't get ourselves out of,” said Cappa. “It feels as if we have to know we’re the cleverest viewer in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for a decade, and we just have to laugh at something different now. The genre needs to change.”

With this renewal, with Haha, You Clowns guaranteed to return, Cappa could potentially catalyze that very evolution. If nothing else, the renewal ensures audiences additional episodes to enjoy the warm glow of the endearing Campbell clan.
